Setting Up Twilio for the PICSWeb SMS Integration

Before you can Enable the PICSWeb SMS Integration, you will need to create a Twilio account and add the necessary funds to pay for any SMS messages generated from PICS.

Creating a Twilio Account

You will first need to Sign Up to Twilio. This will set you up with a trial account. Once you have set up your trial account, select Upgrade from the top of the page to begin the upgrade process.

If you would like to have a go with a trial Twilio account before upgrading, please refer to this Twilio Guidance page.

In this process, you will first need to enter your Address and then Tax Number if necessary.

After this, you can set up your account with an initial balance. Enter the amount you want to start with and select Continue. After this, enter your payment details and select Continue. Once you finish the upgrade process, you will be set up with a full account.

Twilio’s pricing for UK SMS services can be found in their Pricing Page.

Adding Funds to your Twilio Account

Once you have set up a full account, you can view your account balance by selecting Billing > Billing Overview from the top of the page.

This will open the Billing Overview page, where you can view your current balance.

If you need to add more funds, select Add Funds from the Billing Information box. This will take you to the payment page where you can enter a Payment Amount and Payment Method. Once you are finished, select Add to my balance.

Be aware that Twilio may display the Payment Amount in US Dollars rather than GBP. Make sure that you enter the correct amount in USD.

Obtaining Integration Credentials from Twilio

When you Enable the PICSWeb SMS Integration, you will need to enter the AccountSID and AuthToken from Twilio in the Integration Settings window.

To view these, select Account > API Keys & Tokens from the top of the page. You may need to re-enter your password to gain access to this page.

The necessary credentials are shown in the Live Credentials box in this page. You will need to select the eye icon for the Auth Token to display.
