Traineeship Programme Achievement Rates in PICSWeb QAR Calculations

Traineeship Programme Achievement Rates are limited to Traineeship programme aims with the following criteria:

Overall Achievement Rates

The Traineeship Programme overall achievement rates are calculated using the standard Overall Methodology and includes programme aims where the Actual End date is not blank. The main differences are:

  • In order to be identified as an achiever, a Positive Outcome must be recorded within 6 months of the programme end date.

  • The Outcome date is used to calculate the Hybrid End date / Overall Year.

Identifying a Positive Outcome

When a Traineeship aim has ended, in order to be deemed as an achiever there must be an ILR Destination and Progression record recorded with the following criteria:

  • The Learner Reference Number (LRN) matches the LRN of the aim

  • The Outcome Start date is on or after the Aim Actual End date

  • The Outcome Start date is within 180 days of the Aim Actual End date

  • The Outcome Type / Code must be one of the following combinations:

    • EDU2: Apprenticeship

    • EDU4: Other FE (Full time)

    • EDU5: Other FE (Part time)

    • EMP1: In paid employment for 16 hours or more per week

    • EMP3: Self employed

    • EMP4: Self employed for 16 hours or more per week

Calculating the Hybrid End / Overall Year

For Traineeship Programme aims, the hybrid end date is set to latest of:

  • Aim Actual End date

  • Aim Planned End date

  • as per Overdue Planned Break

  • Date first reported as Completed/Withdrawn

  • Traineeship Outcome Date

    • Where a positive destination exists (see above), the Outcome Start date of that destination record

    • Otherwise, Aim Actual End date plus 6 months

Timely Achievement Rates

The Traineeship Programme timely achievement rates are calculated using the standard Timely Methodology and include programme aims where the Planned End date is before the end of the PICSWeb Report period.
