Multi-Factor Authentication in the Hosting Portal

As part of our ongoing programme of security improvements on our hosting platform, we are updating the sign-in process with multi-factor authentication. As this process is different for the Skills and DWP Hosting Portals, two separate pages are available below.

Password Requirements

Passwords set up for multi-factor authentication will need to contain characters from three of the following four categories:

  • Uppercase letters of European languages – A through Z, with diacritic marks, Greek and Cyrillic characters.
  • Lowercase letters of European languages – a through z, sharp-s, with diacritic marks, Greek and Cyrillic characters.
  • Base 10 digits – 0 through 9.
  • Non-alphanumeric characters – Special characters such as ~!@#$%^&*_-+=`|(){}[]:;"'<>,.?/
    • Currency symbols such as the Euro or British Pound are not counted as special characters for this policy setting.

The full details are available on the Microsoft Complexity Requirements Page.
