What is OneAdvanced Identity & FAQs
What Is OneAdvanced Identity?
Â
OneAdvanced Identity is a cross-product identity service which offers customers a range of Authentication options as well as better connectivity with other OneAdvanced Education products.
This replaces the native Two Factor Authentication solution in PICS, and gives customers the following benefits:
Centralised Authentication: OneAdvanced Identity allows for centralised authentication, meaning that user credentials are managed in one place. This facilitates better control and monitoring of access across OneAdvanced Education Products.
Various Multi-Factor Authentication solutions: OneAdvanced Identity offers customers multiple variations of MFA - this can be MFA utilising 3rd-party mobile apps (Google & Microsoft Authenticator)
Adoption of Organisation's Single Sign On solutions: OneAdvanced Identity can be configured to adopt your organisation's single sign-on solution, allowing users within your organisation to sign in with your organisation's user credentials.
Seamless Access: Users experience seamless and integrated access to various applications across Advanced Education, contributing to a more positive user experience.
Reduced Password Fatigue: Users have to remember and manage fewer passwords since they only need to authenticate once to access multiple applications and services.
Centralised Password Policies: OneAdvanced Identity allows customers to set password policies that reflect their own internal policies.
What Multi Factor Authentication solutions does OneAdvanced Identity offer?

Who is responsible for Administration of OneAdvanced Identity?
Much like your PICS environment, customers are responsible for the administration of the OneAdvanced Identity portal. Our support team will assist in the initial setup and configuration, but they will not have access to your data.
How are users created in OneAdvanced Identity?
This is broken down into two categorises:
Users that exist in PICS prior to OneAdvanced Identity being switched on will need to be created to be within the Identity Service. This is done by accessing the user within PICS and clicking a dedicated button to create them in OneAdvanced Identity. For more information on this process please view Creating Users in OneAdvanced Identity.
Once OneAdvanced Identity has been switched on, any new user that is created in PICS is automatically created within OneAdvanced Identity.
Once OneAdvanced Identity is enabled, how will I sign in?
The sign in process will change for users who have been created in OneAdvanced Identity.
These users will need to sign in using a dedicated button that will be present on the front page.
Users who have not been created in OneAdvanced Identity can continue to sign in to PICS using their username and password.
