The following changes were made as part of PICS 20.00.001.0, as released on the 14th August 2020.

New Year Changes

  • Desktop PICS – 2019 ILR data has been rolled forward to 2020 as per the ESFA migration rules. 

  • Desktop PICS – ILR Data Capture for 2020/21.

  • Desktop PICS – Support for T-Level programmes has been added.

  • Imports and Exports – The ILR exporter can now produce XML ILR files conforming to the 2020 ESFA ILR specification.

  • Imports and Exports – The 2020 ILR Exporter now integrates with the 2020 FIS.

  • Imports and Exports – The XML ILR Importer “New Learners” mode has been updated for 2020.

  • Imports and Exports – The XML ILR Importer’s “Update existing and import new” mode has been updated for 2020.

  • Imports and Exports – PelControl has been updated to allow imports of 2020 ILR Export files.

  • PICSWeb has been updated to allow data capture, validation and export of 2020 ILR data, and data capture for 2019 historic data fields (hosting only).

New Features

  • Desktop PICS – Fields have been added to allow recording of time and funding “spent” on Apprenticeship programmes.

  • Customers on the SaaS pricing model now have the option to select Full and Light users in Password Maintenance once a new licence number is issued.

Improvements

  • eAdmin, eApply, eRecruit, eTutor – These web applications are no longer supported on our hosting platform. PICSWeb is now available for users of these applications with all the related features available. Our online courses are available to show you how.

  • Imports and Exports – The XML ILR Importer now assigned an employer to apprenticeship PMR and TNP payments.

  • Imports and Exports – XML ILR Imports in PICS now only allow files to be imported from 2015 and later. 

  • Desktop PICS – LARS v7 : 23rd July and ORGANISATIONS v3.0.0 : 23rd July is now available in PICS. 

Data Patches

These are changes to the PICS Database structure to support future features. When they are available they will be announced as New Features or Improvements in the relevant Release Notes.

  • Desktop PICS – Database Upgraded to 20.00 format.

  • Desktop PICS – Many year-specific fields from 2014 and before have been removed. See our blog post for more detail.

Bug Fixes

  • eFileStore – The eFileStore installation process would show an error when installed for the first time, or to an empty folder. Now fixed.
