This feature is only available to users who are licensed for bksb Integration. If you are already licensed, you will need to Contact Us to have the integration enabled in PICSWeb.

If you used to use the legacy Desktop PICS bksb integration, make sure that you have switched the Databridge State to Off in the Admin Options > Databridge Settings page in your bksb account.

PICSWeb can integrate with the bksb system to download functional skills data for your Learners and Applicants. Once the integration is enabled, you can create bksb accounts for and send invites to learners and applicants, then import their most recent assessment results into PICSWeb.

Synchronisation will only take place for learners with a Live system status who are either In Learning or who ended in the last month.

Selecting Integrations > bksb from the Configuration section of the side menu will take you to the bksb Summary page, where you can set up and manage your integration.

Integration Status

The integration status section displays the following details:

  • Integration Enabled – This will indicate whether or not you have turned on the integration. This can be done from the Settings window explained below.

  • Default Password – This is the password given to any new learner and applicant bksb accounts you create from PICSWeb. The first time that the learner or applicant logs in, they will be prompted to change this password.

  • Auto Enrol on Courses – If this displays Yes, any new account created in bksb from PICSWeb will be enrolled onto any courses that you have set up for auto-enrolment in bksb.

Integration Information

The main section of the bksb summary explains how the integration works.

Integration Settings

Selecting Settings from the top-right corner of the page will open a window where you can activate the bksb integration by entering the following details. Once you have made any changes, select Save to confirm them or Cancel to discard them.

The following fields are available:

  • Integration Enabled – Once this is ticked, you can begin creating bksb accounts and downloading progression data.

  • API Access Key – If you do not know this, please refer to the guidance below.

  • API Secret Key – If you do not know this, please refer to the guidance below.

  • Default Password – This will be the password given to any new learner and applicant bksb accounts you create from PICSWeb. The first time that the learner or applicant logs in, they will be prompted to change this password.

  • Auto Enrol on Courses – If this is ticked, any new account created in bksb from PICSWeb will be enrolled onto any courses that you have set up for auto-enrolment in bksb.

Setting Up bksb API

In order to obtain the API Access Key and API Secret Key, you will need your bksb administrator to log in to your bksb URL.

Once logged in, go to Admin Options > API Access Keys > Configure Access Key from the side menu. Here you can generate an API Access Key and API Secret Key for your PICSWeb Integration.

In this page, also make sure that the Status is set to Enabled and all the Permissions are set to Allow.
